I’m so glad you’re here!

You’ve made the decision to take the plunge and improve your baby’s sleep and I’m so glad you ended up here. Whether you’re having difficulty settling your baby, having nightmare naps, or your baby will only sleep on you- I’m here to help. In order to live a happy, healthy and content life with your family and friends, sleep is absolutely essential. It is also something we all deserve and is absolutely achievable with the right guidance and support.

I have always loved my sleep. An afternoon snooze is my kind of heaven, and 9 hours a night was always an absolute must. When I was pregnant with our first baby, I knew that getting a good night’s sleep would be a non-negotiable.

Boy, was I in for a shock…

My experience of motherhood

My husband and I had a baby who would not settle and we were tag-teaming throughout the night. We would take turns walking around the house with him - bouncing him & rocking him, you name it, we did it. Anything and everything we could think of, in an attempt to get this boy to sleep.

At around 4 months, I decided enough was enough, and that good sleep was still my non-negotiable. I wasn’t about to give up on it.

After carrying out a lot of research and delving into the world of sleep teaching, I embarked on our sleep journey. In a matter of days our nightmare sleeper of a baby was taking gloriously long naps, having settled nights and waking for one feed, HALLELUJAH!!!

Safe to say it was the best thing that we have ever done in our parenting journey, and we have never looked back!

My experience as a paediatric nurse and health visitor

However, it did get me thinking that even with my background and experience as a paediatric nurse and health visitor, when it came to sleep deprivation with an unsettled baby, I still felt desperate. I was lost, unsure where to start and quite frankly, miserable. It made me think, how on earth do parents without any prior knowledge of baby sleep feel?

As I started to support other parents at work I couldn’t help but feel how important it is to have someone for parents to turn to for specialised sleep advice. And so, after completing my OCN Level 5 Sleep Consultant Training, the Snooze Nurse was born.

Tried and tested plans that work

I have loved putting all of the sleep knowledge that I have gained from both my professional experience and learnings from my first baby into practice with our second baby. The result has been that we have a much more content second child. She was calm, settled, and just such a happy little soul from only a few weeks old. From very early on we were getting good stretches of sleep overnight, and this rest meant that we were able to appreciate and enjoy those special early weeks and months. By 3 months, she was having beautifully long naps and having super settled nights with 1-2 night feeds. The difference between baby number one and baby number two was immeasurable!

Teaching our children to sleep is a gift and a skill they will have for life. It enables them to live life to the fullest and it should be considered no different to teaching them to walk, talk, or any other vital life skills.

I find it deeply satisfying to support parents and their babies to sleep well, as it enables parents to enjoy this crazy, wild but incredible journey.

The first few months and years of your children’s lives are intense, and as tiring as they are, they don’t have to be spent completely and utterly exhausted. They can be enjoyed and remembered with fondness.

So, whenever you are ready, I am here to support and guide you towards a life full of sleep, happy babies and energised parents.

Lots of Love
